Aug 1 - 13 - Sylvia - Caledonia Theatre, 166 S Main St, Chambersburg, PA 17201, 261-5750. Greg and Kate have moved to Manhattan after raising their family in the suburbs. When he brings home a dog he found at the park – or that has found him – bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag, wife and canine begin a hilarious and touching tug-of-war for Greg’s affection until all involved realize that Sylvia is a valued part of their lives. Aug 4 – 6 - Maryland Crab & Corn Feast - Granite Hill Campground and Adventure Golf, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (800) 642-TENT. You order crabs by the dozen and we will serve up the corn and lemonade to complement your meal. You can choose to eat with the group on the pavilion beside the pool or take your crabs back to your site. Either way, you will need to bring your own utensils. An amazing weekend for all ages with magician Kevin Hurley. On Friday night, Kevin will perform a Family Magic show. An old-fashioned festival offering a flea market, craft displays, antiques displays and hometown cooking in the town park. The Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts will be here Friday night performing an interactive show for kids of all ages. On Saturday, you'll create bookmarks in the kid's craft class with Linda and dance the night away with DJ John. Aug 19 - Eisenhower Skeet and Trap Shoot - Eisenhower National Historic Site, 97 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (717) 338-9114. Sponsored by the Friends of the National Parks at Gettysburg. A traditional country fair held at the South Mountain Fairgrounds featuring live entertainment, agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, carnival rides and GREAT country food.
