Thru July 4 - Independence Day Weekend - Granite Hill Campground and Adventure Golf, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (800) 642-TENT. Our activities director will keep you busy with Bingo, crafts, horseshoes, shuffleboard and ping-pong tournaments, hayrides, pool games, dances, a campfire social, plus a few surprises too! There will be plenty of activities for the whole family.

Thru July 4 - Gettysburg Civil War Heritage Days - Locations throughout Gettysburg, 717-334-6274. Held to commemorate the Battle of Gettysburg with living history encampments, band concerts a book and paper show, a collectors' show, 4th of July program, Civil War lecture series and battle
reenactments. The annual Fireman's Festival is held during this week at the Gettysburg Recreation Park with daily activities.

Thru Aug 10 - Hike With Ike - Eisenhower National Historic Site, 97 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (717) 338-9114. Join a National Park Ranger for a walk through downtown Gettysburg to learn more about the Eisenhowers' life in this community. Thursday evenings, 7:15 p.m. Meet at the Gettysburg College gates at the corner of North Washington and Water Streets. Free.

Thru Sept 3 - "FOR THE GLORY - THE CIVIL WAR MUSICAL IN GETTYSBURG" - Majestic Theater, 25 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA 17325, 717-337-8200. Don’t miss this lavish Broadway musical at the newly restored 850-seat Majestic Theater. From the award-winning creator of the Broadway hit, "Jekyll & Hyde", this emotionally charged show weaves rousing music and moving personal stories into one unforgettable event.

Thru Oct 14 - The 2006 Summer Spectacular - American Music Theatre, Route 30 East, Lancaster, PA 17602, 717-397-7700 or 800-648-4102. It's dance, comedy and the best songs from every era and every genre of music including Country, Broadway, Oldies and much more.

Thru July 2 - I'll Be Back Before Midnight - Caledonia Theatre, 166 S Main St, Chambersburg, PA 17201, 261-5750. Comedy and mystery combine as a husband brings his wife to a remote cabin so that she can recover from a nervous breakdown.

July 1 – 3 - Gettysburg Anniversary Civil War Battle Reenactments - 717-338-1525. An annual three-day event featuring two unique and dynamic battles each day. The event is held on private farmland and offers sutlers, entertainment, special guests, living history village and educational demonstrations. Be sure to visit Sutler row for a wonderful and interesting shopping experience. Good food and drink is also available.

July 1 – 3 - Abraham Lincoln Train - Pioneer Lines, 106 N. Washington St, Gettysburg, PA 17325, 717-334-6932. 1 pm & 3pm; Go back in time with President Abraham Lincoln aboard our “1863 Scenic Excursion”. Regular Fare: $19.00 adults, $10.00 children (4-12 yrs), children 3 and under ride for free

July 4 - Independence Day

July 4 - 16 - Incorruptible - Caledonia Theatre, 166 S Main St, Chambersburg, PA 17201, 261-5750. Welcome to Priseaux, France, c. 1250 A.D. where the brothers of the local monastery confront a great challenge: Saint Foy, their Patron Saint, hasn’t worked a miracle in thirteen years and the pilgrims have stopped coming.

July 6 – 9 - Gettysburg Bike Week - Allstar and Battlefield Harley Davidson/Buell, 877-595-9005. Motorcycle event featuring guided motorcycle tours of the Battlefield, observation rides, vendors, a parade through historic downtown Gettysburg, music and more. Held at Allstar Events Complex and Battlefield Harley-Davidson/Buell of Gettysburg

July 7 – 9 - Wild Wild West - Granite Hill Campground and Adventure Golf, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (800) 642-TENT.Have a foot stompin' time with the City Slickers / Country Kickers! Seed spitting contest, three-legged races, water gun shootout, and potato sack races. The Red Shed Snack Bar will serve up some great pork BBQ and coleslaw to boot!

July 9 - 14 - Eisenhower Academy - Eisenhower National Historic Site, 97 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (717) 338-9114. A one-week institute for school teachers covering Eisenhower's foreign and domestic policy, 1950s popular culture and Eisenhower’s leadership. Graduate credit or Pennsylvania Professional Education Credit available.

July 14 – 16 - Luau & Pig Roast "Buffet Style" - Granite Hill Campground and Adventure Golf, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (800) 642-TENT. Don your Parrot-fan-alia and be prepared to party all day! We'll serve up delicious roasted pig and you bring along a side dish to share. Kenny will be singing Jimmy Buffet tunes poolside while all you Parrot Heads limbo, hula-hoop and compete for the best-dressed award! If you don't have a Hawaiian or tie-dye shirt, bring along a white one and make your very own with our Activities Director, Linda.

July 15 - Variety Train-Frankie & The Polka Knights, The Strolling Accordianists - Pioneer Lines, 106 N. Washington St, Gettysburg, PA 17325, 717-334-6932. 1 pm; Fare: $19.00 adults, $10.00 children (4-12 yrs) children 3 yrs and under ride for free

July 15 – Adams County Irish Festival - Gettysburg Moose Park, 717-632-8627. 10:30 am to 8 pm; This featival benefits Children's Friendship Porject for fNorthern Ireland and the National History Library and Museum (to be built in Gettysburg). Irish bands, music, dance,food gifts, crafts and living history encampments by late 19th century groups.

July 18 - 30 - Lend Me A Tenor - Caledonia Theatre, 166 S Main St, Chambersburg, PA 17201, 261-5750. The year is 1934 and the gala opening of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company is in jeopardy because world famous tenor Tito Morelli arrives too late to rehearse.

July 21 – 23 - 2006 Summer Olympic Games - Granite Hill Campground and Adventure Golf, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (800) 642-TENT. Sign up for the competitions at the camp store upon your arrival. You can choose from a 1-mile running race, basketball shootout, football or softball throw, horseshoe, tennis, shuffleboard and ping-pong tournaments. Olympians will be awarded ribbons and can celebrate at the Saturday night dance with DJ John. For the Moms, we are offering a friendly scrapbooking competition. Bring all your supplies or borrow Ruth Topper's, our Creative Memories Consultant. The Olympian who completes the most number of scrapbook pages will be awarded a Creative Memories gift!

July 22 - Remembering Korea, The Forgotten War - Eisenhower National Historic Site, 97 Taneytown Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (717) 338-9114. Talks by veterans and a flag ceremony commemorate the armistice. Included in site admission.

July 28 – 30 - Pool Party Weekend - Granite Hill Campground and Adventure Golf, 3340 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325, (800) 642-TENT. If you missed the pool party in June, you won't want to miss this Super Soaker Bash. Summer is here, and there's nothing better than taking a refreshing dip in the pool and enjoying a free poolside cookout while listening to pop tunes brought to you by DJ Jamey.

July 29 - Variety Train-David Rojahn - Pioneer Lines, 106 N. Washington St, Gettysburg, PA 17325, 717-334-6932. Watch as your group laugh uproariously as Dave takes a peek into the future, and shows what life may be like when we learn to use more than 10 percent of our brain. He stretches the human ability to laugh to the fullest capacity, giving your group an outrageous time. 1 pm; Fare: $19.00 adults, $10.00 children (4-12 yrs) children 3 yrs and under ride for free.
