They’re the songs and sentiments that have thrilled audiences around the world! Andrew Lloyd Webber has penned some of the most widely recognized and beloved music of all time. Approximately 25 businesses throughout Historic Gettysburg participate by hosting special receptions, guest artists and authors, sales and later business hours (until 8:00pm). Look for the First Friday banner at participating Gettysburg area shops, galleries, restaurants and businesses.This month, un'wine'd in the many shops along our historic streets during our First Friday event complete with specials, entertainment and artist showing, featuring Gettysburg Wineries - Hauser Estate Winery and Reids Orchard & Winery at Jennie's Place. 4:00 -9:00 pm. Advance notice is required. No visit to Gettysburg is complete without a visit to some of the historic churches in the town. Some of these churches served as hospitals during the conflict, some were built as memorials to the Battle, and others played a role in the everyday life of the citizens of the time. History comes alive in these churches - four of which were built prior to the Civil War and are still utilized today. Conveniently located to area neighborhoods and the Gettysburg Hospital is the 52 acre Gettysburg Recreation Park. Humming with activity, from walking the Biser one mile fitness trail to catching a softball game or just a summer time stroll. The market will be located in close proximity to the main Rec Park building. EBT and Debit services will be provided.
